Sandra 2002 used to work on my system, but since I installed my RAID setup it doesn't want to run. It will freeze me whole comp, the only thing that will work is my mouse, but I can't select anything else, not even the task manager will respond.

What gives?

Sorry but need to bring this back up. Still can't figure out why Sandra won?t work. Abit TH7-RAID0... it takes only seconds then everything will start to lock-up. I'm not sure if I should let it go for a while, but I usually end up hitting the reset button before anything. What should I do? I tried uninstalling like 4 times, using pro, standard etc...

Worked fine on the older system, VC822/P31GHz.

try doing just single tests.. avoid any hard drive based test..

or - try the HD based test first & if it crashes again, then there's your problem
raid chips that are installed into mobo's are generally pretty weak (might allow just stripping or stripping & mirroring, but not just mirroring)

what chipset is it based on ?

No, this is the only program, which is doing this. It all started once I implemented the RAID0 setup, before that it was running without any problems... not sure what the RAID has to do with this problem?

Hey Guys,

Have had this problem also, found this on sisoftware's site :
---
Q: Sandra locks up at splash screen in Windows 200X!
A: Check the drivers for the ATA controllers and/or SCSI host adapters. Specifically:

A HighPoint (HPT370) ATA controller: make sure you're using the 1.2.0612 or later drivers (not the 1.1.xxx drivers). Also, update the ATA controller BIOS to the latest version.
Adaptec/Roxio WinOnCD 3.x: uninstall the CD-ROM emulator device driver or disable it.
---

I've tried updating to the latest HighPoint drivers, but cannot upgrade the bios since it is an on-board Highpoint (Epox 4BDA2+). You may have more luck if you have an add-on card, because I remember having this problem with my old BX133-RAID, and fixing it by updating the mobo bios (which updates the Highpoint bios too).

Ah well, it's worth a shot
cheers

Duh!!! Hahaha... great! Thanks, that did the trick! I updated the drivers and from 1.1 to 2.0... and everthing is working now! My bios is the latest (ABIT-TH7II RAID), so didn't need to update the bios. :)

Thanks!
