Why? its like 2 or 3x the cost for the same wattage... ive heard that the watts you get out of RF are more honestly measured than int he other brands.. what is the truth, are there any good amp review sites out there?

Rockford Fosgate tests every AMP before they send them out. All the amps come with a "birth certificate" that lists what the amp has actually maxed out at. My ex-roommate had a amp rated for 800W but the birth certificate said 917W. IMHO RF gives you the most bang for your Bass.

I actually like the styling... but, I can get like a 200w pioneer for the price of a 50w RF.... .I guess I could look at the BC at BB and pick out a really nice one... lets say it is rated at 100W but the BC says 170.... does that mean it actually puts out 170?

I don't think RF is overpriced. I have PPI and that stuff is overpriced but of course I didn't pay retail for them. I think MTX is the best bang for your buck. The stuff is inexpensive and puts out decent stuff.

does the pioneer have a built in electric crossover? most RF's have them built in and therefore cost a little more. and if you are going to buy RF don't go to BB. (i didn't even know they sold them there). go to Audio King, Ultimate Electronics (whichever is in your area) i had two 10" RF Series 1 and a 75w 2600 amp. i had the box custom built and my car sounded as good as some guys that had 200w pioneers. if the box is right, the RF's put out pretty good sound and hey, the subs are cheap if that is what you are buying. buy one get one free, you can't beat that. I got the service plan on my speakers, at the end of the plan i brought both subs in and audio king replaced them no questions asked.

Because discerning rednecks in low-rider pickup trucks demand the best. ;)

If you're running subs get the RF amp...but also there are so many good class D amps out there also for example... AutoTek, JBL power series, Mmats, Zapco, PPI, MTX, kicker, and numerous others. I'm pretty sure the RF amp has a bettter RMS rating, cleaner power, ohm wiring, etc.

Here is a place where i get all my stuff....this the link to thier specials page....

Call and dial extension 22 ask for scott!

There's no such thing as a good amp for subwoofers for under $100.... You get what you pay for, especially in car audio.

Agreed. A $100 amp will have nowhere near the clean power/dampening factor to control a decent subwoofer.

What about this little RF 100.2 100wx1 RMS, and with RF it is probably underrated.. Wouldnt that be enough to power my 8" sub

Oh BTW you cant get a powered bass tube for under 100$ I think the cheapest is 199$... how are the bazookas, and do they require the same wiring that a regulaer amp does? the 199$ bazooka only has a 100W amp
