The premise of this thread is bogus. How is he being ignored? His opinion was published in the New York Times. You are talking about it. It's not like you (OP) are part of some underground movement who's sharing some occult information with us pleibs. You've clearly gotten this through the mainstream media.

In that is it both not apartheid and not worse than what South Africa was doing. You know, what I already said.

So what is it, then, the building of roads in Palestinian areas that they're not allowed to cross, let alone use?

A campfire is hot and so is the Sun. However, saying a fire and the sun are both basically the same thing because both are hot is stupid. Gitmo is as much a gulag as a campfire is the Sun.

I sense you are one of those who say gitmo is a gulag. Am I right? How about we find out what people who were actually in the gulags have to say about it:

You can read an entire article about it, written by Litvinov, here:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/06/17/AR2005061701218.html

Some snippits:

How convenient of you to ignore what I actually offered in pursuit of what you want people to hear- it's your standard strawman. Here it is, again-

Gitmo is a gulag in the sense of the procedural methods employed to imprison people there, which was Carter's point entirely.

Obviously, Gitmo is unlike the gulag in other respects, but you really, really want to avoid what I said, and will apparently resort to your usual methods to accomplish that. The Soviet govt sent people to the gulag because they could, and our own govt offers no greater justification in fact for sending people to Gitmo.

Nobody listens to Carter for the same reason we ignore mothers-in-law; all he does is complain and tell you how your spouse deserves better. Only when Jimmy speaks, it's the American people who aren't good enough for him and the standards he expects.
