Why is my Uncached hard drive speed down?

On a # of tests my hard drive speed for uncached speed is coming up at around 2mb/s
and all the benchmarks say it should be at or over 4mb/s.
Any ideas?

Go into your bios. Many defaults will change the HD cache.

The benchmark tests i ran show my HD is running about 2 mb per second on uncached speed.
The reference should be around 4 mb per second. I've ran Scandisc & defrag: no help. DMA is checked & I've ran various Cachman settings with little change.

Enable DMA in BIOS and also in Windows...look in device manager.
