Why is my Sanyo 4900 not activating?

It is fully charged so I go to activate.sprintpcs.com. I choose my phone model and type in the ESN found on the phone. Yet they say they are unable to activate it so I have to call it. I tried both ESNs and it still didn't work. The interesting thing is, at the part where I had to choose my phone...it said OR put in the ESN...I put in the ESN then too and the site still cannot ID my phone.

why dont you call sprint to activate it?

It takes all of 5 minutes.

Is it all automated? I dunno, my dad's the one who is doing the activating and he's freaking out. I'm just sighing at how stupid he can get.
