When I am surfing some websites are causing my monitor to buzz. It's high pitched and it's irritating as heck. Anyone know what's causing this? Is my monitor about to die? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some specs:

512mb @ 400Mhz DDR
P4 2.4
Epox 4BDA
Leadtek Ti4600
19" Samsung 900nf
Using BNC Cables

There's a bomb in it, it's going to blow! No, I'm just kidding. I would suggest contacting the manufacturer about that.

I went to a web page that causes the buzz and the damn monitor only buzzes when it's at 85hz. It doesn't do it at 60, 75, 100 or 120hz. How's that for retarded!

Are there big vent holes in your monitor and do you let doors and windows in your house open alot? Maybe a bee got in..........

I had similar problems with one monitor once. At certain resolutions and refresh rates (85 and up) it would keep a buzz. The problem was traced to faulty PSU on the monitor. After it was changed the problem disappeared.

Could be the monitor PSU dying on you...

Hope this helps!

I have a similar problem with my viewsonic... If it's been powered off for a while, when I plug it back in, it makes a high-pitched buzzing noise for about 25 seconds, and then there are no problems until it has been unplugged for a while again. Very odd.... doesn't seem to be based around refresh rates, it does it as soon as the computer starts up and it has a picture to display. Although, it does get quieter just before the XP logo shows up, and then louder for a few seconds as soon as the logo shows.

I have the same problem with my e70 viewsonic.

I run at 1024x768 85hz just fine but when I play a game in 1280x1024 mode it has a really high pitching buzz, if I turn down contrast/brightness a bit it goes away, probably the psu in it cant push enough power or something...
