aphexII syndrome: paranoia regarding relationships. symptoms include asking random people for digital camera advice and dream interpretation. in some extreme cases, muscle twitch is possible.

I got the same thing a few times... never figured out why it happens. The twitching went on for like 20 minutes then just stopped. Strange

just sounds like a tic(involuntary muscle movement). nothing to be worried about. Most people recognize them when they happen under their eye, but they can happen in other parts of the body as well.

About three years ago, I went through a period of about 8 months where there was some point on my body twitching at all times. Whether it was my bicep, or a muscle in my forearm, or my eye lid, or a muscle in my back, in my leg, my neck, it drove me up the freaking wall. Only one muscle at any one time, though, and the same spot would twitch for a full two or three days, then the twitch would move on to some other muscle for two or three days. I seriously thought about asking a doctor what the hell it could be, I've never seen anything like it, but I never managed to make an appointment.

Then it all just stopped. Now I may get a twitch or two a week that only last a minute.

I'm no doctor or anything, but i think i heard around that these twitching can be caused by protein deficientcy.

But if you have constant spams, it may be a good idea to see a doctor. My mom had a friend who kept having face spasms and it was warning sign that her left side of her face was going to paralyzed. Too late though. The left side of my mom's friends face is still paralyzed it just sits there... sucks if you ask me.... heh.

It could be a magnesium deficiency. A friend of mine had severe muscle twitches and tics. He went to a Neurologist and a General Surgeon. Both of them told him it was a vitamin deficiency. He went to a Nutritionist. They did blood work, and it was a magnesium deficiency. Two months after supplementation with Liquid Magnesium, his muscle twitches and tics were completely gone. ;)

Are you sure you aren't talking about muscle spasms?

It is most likely a electrolyte imbalance. Like I posted in my response above about actin and myosin.

If your electrolytes are out of balance it can trigger your muscles (which are run by electical differences, very small that is) to contract. Read the info from my post above and you will know much more about how muscles actually work, very interesting stuff.

NutraSweet/Aspartame side effect? Many diet cola drinkers complain of this and similar side effects...

Used to get muscle twitches now and then, and then discovered that if I lifted weights on a regular basis, they completely disappeared.

Yes, I am certain. He had "tics" or "twitches" that occurred on a random basis. He didn't have spasms. He went to a Nutritionist who was also an Atlas-Orthogonal Chiropractor (much different from a traditional Chiropractor) and was cured. This particular Chiropractor worked with Michael Johnson (olympian) for the same problem.

Electrolyte imbalances could also play a role in involuntary muscle twitch syndrome. It's best to see a qualified specialist to alleviate these symptoms.
