Looks like the 2600K will be as great a value build as the prior Q6600 build which my mother still uses was. I see no great need to upgrade until there's at least a 50+% increase in raw single threaded performance which looks to be years away yet.
It's not like I need to save another 5 minutes using handbrake with that bluray or need the extra CPU power for some CPU bound game or anything. The 2600K does everything I need it to do.
I may upgrade to Haswell-E next year depending on what new features are brought to the table chipset wise.
