Why is my ECS K7S5A BEEPING?

I turn it on. and I heat 2 longer beeps (still rather short, but longer than the others) folloewed by 8 short beeps...... i cant find a thing about this int he manuel or on ECS's site..... whats wrong? Help!

I have the same mobo on one of my systems, but don't have a clue about the beeping code.

My personal experience is that most common problems on a new build include RAM not seated properly, and/or vid card not seated properly. If these check out OK, clear CMOS and troubleshoot from there.

What type of BIOS do you have? Beep codes are BIOS specific.

If you have a Phoenix BIOS...


<< 2-_-_ Any combination of beeps after two means that some of your memory is bad, and unless you want to get real technical, you should probably have the guys in the lab coats test the memory for you. Take your computer to the shop. >>

i had the same problem once w/ that board (i can't remember the # of beeps tho) but i took out the video card reseated it and it worked fine...

hope this helps
