Why is my computer always crashing?

Hello lsquare, at this point I would really like to know what hardware you are using, specifically the motherboard, and the SATA port your boot drive is on.

Also, make sure there is a folder named 'Minidump' in C:Windows. If there is not, create one.

I'm confused. Why do you want me to create a Minidump folder when Who Crash already got the results and I have post it?

My setup is almost identical to yours. I'm using a Core i5 2500k at stock, Gigabyte Z68x, 4x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws, Crucial M4 128GB SSD, and a Seagate 3TB HDD.

I suspect it's the SSD rather than the HDD base on the reasons that I outlined earlier. What will HDTune and Crystaldiskinfo do to help me determine the root cause of the problem?


CrystalDiskInfo will show SMART data from the hard drive and so will HDTune, but HDTune can do a surface scan.

Posts 11 and 21 seem to indicate a minidump was not created with the blue screen. Either the location it is looking for is not present, or the data it is trying to write is corrupt. If you have that folder, have you looked to see if there is anything in it?

A tad jealous of you SSD, but the Black is a great drive.
