why is my 3d benchmark score so low?

g'day

I've run 3d benchmark 2001se a few times and my score is around 8900. When I look at the online result browser, people with the same spec machine are getting around 11,000-12,000! I've recently formatted so I dont think its windows... here are my specs:

Windows XP
Athlon XP 2000+ (not o/c)
ECS K7S5A mobo
384mb PC133 ram
Geforce 4 Ti4200 64mb (detonator 40.72)
Seagate 60gig 7200rpm

Here is a comparison with some guy who has pretty much the same spec machine but with a different mobo and less 128mb ram!:

It says my FSB is 66mhz but its really meant to say 266 (some problem with the mobo and 3dbenchmark).

So is my mobo a slow piece of crap? Do I need some DDR ram? Is it windows? Update my bios? ????

The PC133 is hurting you really badly, the SiS735 chipset isn't the best thing in the world (although it's not bad), and he probably has his video card overclocked.

hmmm i'll have to try some ddr ram and see how i go but its not just his score that is high - its hundreds of others with the same setup that are getting 11,000-12,000. surely my ram cant be responsible for 3000 marks?

I swear that Madonion had better be getting paid huge by nVidia and ATI. Madonion has succeded in writing a piece of software that does nothing but convince dumb people to buy more hardware.

I agree... Some of those numbers posted on their website are totally bogus... Oh, and my computer gets a score of 680, so quit complaining...

my old k7s5a posted as a 66fsb board, also.. i think the misreport is just exclusive to that board ... anyways, the PC133 is probably hurting you, but more importantly a format or defrag also...

lastly upgrade your drives and overclock the videocard..i bet those 11k scores are all o'c'ed

my P4 2.0GHz at with with a GeForce2MX 400 got dwarfed by my Athlon 900 with GeForce2MX 400.

so.stupid.
