Why is moving always so damn depressing?

Busy packin up my Apt. to move to a new one this fall. Why is it that moving is always so depressing? It's like, another year of my life just went by kinda thing. Anyone else feel like that?

Its only depressing for me because i get to do all the heavy lifting...

Moving can be sad.

However, for me, a move would come as a welcome change.

heavy lifting... driving... some of my friends make a party out of it... lots of cold beer and pizza for people who help move

I can understand that but I think moving out of S. Floriduh will be well worth it.

well, when you're in college and have to move almost every year, you kinda get used to it... but then again that doesn't make it any less suck...

I know how you feel.

When I was at Tech, even moving from one floor to another always seemed to be a somber affair.

Just got to take the memories with you, right?

I know what you mean, I just want to find one place and stay there. I am taking summer classes and I moved out of the dorms in June and into an Apt. On August 31 I am moving from my apt in with a friend because my summer lease is up. On August 9th or so I am going to move into my apartment for a year. I wish I didnt have so much crap, just thinking about it makes me sick.

its not even that I have a lot of stuff to move, its the fact that I realize that another life of my year is gone... and I think about all the memories that I had in the place...

Yeah...and then there's that one moment when you look around the empty apartment to check to see if you've forgotten anything...I'm a sucker for sentimentality, ah well.

Next time I move its gonna be out of my parents house, so I'm not going to be too depressed. =)
