Why is Mexican food so hard to digest right?

I absolutely love Mexican food, but even after years of eating it I still spend a fair amount of time in the bathroom afterwards. And no, I'm not talking about Taco Bell-like "Mexican" food either, because if you feel normal after eating that, something's wrong with you. I just don't understand why me and everyone I know gets indigestion after eating it, and how a whole country eats it regularly (I'm assuming the country of Mexico doesn't collectively have indigestion 24/7, but I guess I could be wrong...).

That's why I have the "Mexican" after Taco Bell in quotes. It's a disgrace to authentic Mexican food.

Depending on the dish it can have an excessive amount of fiber (mainly from beans) and a lot of protien (from beans and meat). Both of those can make for some gastro-intestinal fireworks.

Throw in a healthy dose of the spice "cumin" which is the mainstay ingredient in chili and many mexican seasonings and that is just (sp)icing on the cake. That stuff makes you bloat like no tomorrow.

Constantly eat authentic mexican food and never have any problems with it. Btw. what are the "problems" you're ralking about with Taco Bell ? You say "something is wrong with you if you feel normal after you eat taco bell".....no wonder you cannot take the "real" mexican food ;)

If Mexican food itself was the problem, Mexicans would have constant diarrhea. They do not.

It's because your body is not used to it. Irregular eating leads to... get this: Irregularity.

Mexican food doesn't really have any adverse effect on me, other than the usual gas when I load up on the black beans :)

Wrong.

Yep. Ulcers are caused by bacterial infection, in most cases.

There must be something wrong with me because I do not have this problem with Mexican food.

Maybe you are eating too much.
