I dont see how this doesn't make sense to you people. The Police get alot of money for giving out tickets, if they allowed niceguy01 to refill meters they would give out less tickets. I got a parking ticket for $35 once. I forget the exact numbers but lets say it costs 10 cents for 15 minutes. So at that price we get one hour for 40 cents.

The previous argument says that the city still makes money if people put coins in there. Lets find out how many parking hours it would take to equal a ticket.

$35.00 / $0.40 = a whopping 87.5 hours. It's all clear now!

Anyways ... they would still make money if they let you
put some more in the parking meter ...
instead of driving around looking for a new spot
(loosing parking money in the meantime)

the city pays the police department's budget.

Oh, it makes sense. It's just another one of those, "This is such BS. It's supposed to be about right/wrong, not money, but it's always about money."

The downtown of my city just recently installed meters. I now avoid shopping there.

I mean, if you left your spot ... someone else might not take it for awhile...
leaving the meter unused and unpaid for during that time

Don't understand why you have to move your car if you
want to park longer than initially expected.

When the politicians we elect write budgets, they assume a ceertain income from parking tickets.
