Why is it

Why is it that I type an email, proof read it twice, send it and then read it again in the reply and see a typo?
Intelligently deficient comes to mind.

It means you dont give a fark. Supposedly makes you into some type of badass or something. But, I think thats all a bunch of baloney!

I learned long ago that you can't find all your own mistakes when you proofread. I remember that my PhD thesis was read carefully by at least four people (me, my wife, my supervisor, and his wife who was a university teacher of English), all of whom found things to fix. Still, AFTER it was submitted and accepted, I found a few more typos!

Pretty much this.

I get paid hundreds of dollars per hour to edit people's essays and I get people into the most elite schools in the country. Harvard Law School published one of mine as one of the best personal statements they've seen. Still, I find that after I've checked papers multiple times, I sometimes let things go through. You are not alone.

This is what happens when alternate universes collide, causing a ripple in the space/time continuum, while leaving a typo in it's wake.

I find taking a break in between readings to help. Like go take a dump and then come back and re-read the e-mail before sending.

Same reason its hard to proof read your own stuff, and everyone thinks they look good in the mirror.

Because the mind automatically takes shortcuts when reading. You know what you intended to write so your brain knows how to read it before you've even read it.

I sometimes add typos to (or correct typos in) the emails that people send me when I quote them for a reply. Just to mess with people.
