sometimes you can hear the british accents in blur's music though.

because they have to 'play' their voice or something along thoes lines.

if you think about it, its english they are singing in. a certain note for a certain length of time. kind of hard to but an accent on that.

i heard a song yesterday from an 'irish punk band' and you could tell they were irish...

I was born in the U.K. and moved to the US when i was 14. I used to wonder why they intentionally tried to sound non-British..

I always figured that obviously they wanted to appeal to as many markets as possible (especially the U.S.) to maximize appeal/exposure/profits.
