Why is it when I sneeze my forearms are paralyzed for about 30 seconds?

Hmm... I really don't understand why but when I sneeze my forearms paralyze and hurt very badly for about 30 seconds. How could a sneeze have anything to do with my forearms?

Maybe it's a blood pressure thing....you know, your BP drops when you sneeze....in any case, I'd see a doctor about it!

sounds like you might have a semi-pinched nerve in your neck.
see a chiropractor. if it aint that, things don't look good....

I could see going to the doctor over this.

Dr. Blake: What seems to be the problem?
Evan: Well when I sneeze my forearms became paralyzed.
Dr. Blake: Been smoking crack lately?
Evan: You think that could be it?
Dr. Blake: Most certainly.
Evan: Well I don't smoke crack.
Dr. Blake: You the Devil! Get out of here.

:D

Seriously, it sounds like a nerve in your neck is being pinched when you sneeze. This is nothing to take lightly. You should see an MD as soon as possible and demand xrays and an MRI of your neck.

<----------------Has something similar and has to be careful about physical activities.

LOL I didn't realize it could be construed as something serious. I found it funnier than painful.

Cool! I'm not the only one!

It only happens rarely to me though, not every time I sneeze and usually only my right arm.

because when you sneeze your entire body shuts down for a split second and your arms are just lagging.

Why do you think god bless you? Not a silly superstation but blessing you for making it back alive.

I have the same thing. It's really wierd. My doctor said it was a nerve that gets pinched in my neck. If your doctor tells you different, please let me know.

Something similar happens to me occasionally, though not as bad, no paralysis, but a weird "stretched" pain in the forearms. I'm too stupid to go see doctors though. :D
