Why is it that you can smoke in public, i.e. park, beach, etc., but you can't drink in public?

No you cannot smoke in any public area. Restaurants, stores, bars, etc are all smoke free. You can smoke in your car, house, and on your property but anywhere that is a public area it is banned. Granted that doesn't stop kids on campus from smoking right outside doors, not caring, and campus police not doing anything about it (not that I care either way, but it is a law that was passed by the voting public).

Europeans are far far more logical. You usually can drink in public, but public INTOXICATION is illegal. Arresting someone for having a beer outside is just fucking stupid.

That being said, I think smoking in public should be banned too... I hate it when I'm at the bus stop and some guy is smoking right in the middle of the crowd...
