Why is it that only powerstrip can o/c my 6800

Ok, the thing is, I've downloaded the geforce 6800 drivers of 61.77, 66.81, and 66.93, but none of them will give me a possible overclock. I then tried rivatuner to overclock, it won't work.. I tried detect optimal frequencies, it won't work. So then I have to use powerstrip, but it keeps giving me these bad overclocks.... So I am wondering, is my card locked??? If it is, any way I can get around it???? I want to try and get some good optimal frequencies, but forceware, rivatuner won't go along.

Um... I did install coolbits... how else can you overclock on forceware. Rivatuner won't work either, I have to use powerstrip to.

Maybe they detect your card can't run at higher frequencies safely and are trying to tell you: "Don't be foolish and damage your card"?

LoL, sure... hmm, if I switch the heatsink to a better one, will it actually let me overclock then??? Do I also need ramsinks too?

No, the card should clock some with stock equipment. What does rivatuner do when it won't work? Why don't you go ahead and unlock the pipes since that will probably give you more of a boost than overclocking anyway.

Rivatuner keeps telling me that the frequencies don't work, so it tells me to lower it... Yet, when I lower it to below stock speeds, it still says the same thing... I've already unlocked the 4 extra pipes and the vertex shader... I'm so close on 3dmark01se with 23000... but I need it to be stable..

This is just sad. Trying to destroy your card for a benchmark.

Isn't it though. Probably didn't even see that warning on rivatuner.
