theNeone I really do understand the rage. I embrace it as well. And I feel pure. Pure to be nothing but an animal in human clothing and for that brief moment I am like a proud lion in the wilderness king of his pride with nothing but pure emotion and the power to smite my enemies!

Wow! You owned that controller. Those are pretty tough controllers too, very high quality.

Anyway man, just take it easy, too much unneeded stress getting all angry like that.

I think this is juat another form of "road rage" - normally calm people turn out to be jackasses on the road - and on this case, on videogames . . . I've seen others do that too, and on occasion, me too 🙁 . . .. I play too damn many videogames.

What's the point of playing, if it's easy? 😛 I just finally beat the Wernke - Country Life misson at Elite difficulty level in Mechwarrior 4 Mercs after probably 25 attempts, and it's a sweet feeling when you finally pull it off. Adapt and overcome 🙂

I know what you mean, it's weird how games can make you more annoyed than real life sometimes...I get angry....but then think...wait a sec...what am I doing...and am done.

Have never destroyed anything though...😉

i can control my anger and rage when it comes to anything except games. for example, i was playing nfl fever 2k3 just 15 minutes ago, and was losing but only 5 points. my opponent intercepted my pass, and i just went fvcking crazy, screaming and throwing sh!t everywhere. here is my primary victim.

I used to get really mad; thrown a few things, broke a remote. But I got over it. Just mellow out, dude.

I remember when I was obsest with cs. Whenever I died I screamed and threw my wireless mouse against the wall. Luckly it didnt break, but the laser light kept flickering every 5min.

From your site:

Ithaca, NY.
Cold. Wait, no. Bitterly and oppressively cold. As in, get-butt-naked-and- stick-yourself-in-a-freezer cold.

And no, I don't care how many people have the fvcking shirt, ITHACA IS NOT GORGES. (Nor is it gorgeous either.)

I go to Cornell, too. God, don't you hate those fvcking shirts? And they're friggin everywhere.

This happened a few mo's ago:

LOL. I got a call from a client stating that their keyboard wasn't working. I asked the usual questions and it came about that the son was playing a game and yanked the cable of his USB Joystick and after that the KB didn't work. They'd already tried replacing the keyboard AND gotten a new USB Card (because the USB ports were physically damaged).

Anyway, Upon hearing the joystick incident I said, "Oh, son has a bit of temper does he?" in jest/jokingly. The mother (whom I was speaking to) "Oh no, it was an accident". I laughed (inside/ thinking) YEAH Right. Whatever. Told her the port may be shot and that a USB keyboard may be the only option.

So, I bought a USB Keyboard to bring w/me--just in case the PS2 Port was fried. When I got there, I got the USB keyboard working but the PS2 Port was indeed shot. However, I noticed that the usb port on the MB was mighty bent to hell and looked like it may be shorted out. While I was closing the case up, I unbent the metal so it wasn't shorted out, and on a hunch, connected the PS2 keyboard back. It worked. The USB port was totally shredded though, missing the internal plastic and such so it was just decoration but the keyboard worked again. Ended up returning the USB Keyboard.

The son is ~8-10yo.

Personally, I've never damaged any hardware / software out of anger (at least that I can remember, if I did it would be something insignificant like a floppy disk). I have gotten mighty po'd playing some games though. I usually quit playing when I'm about ready to break something. I don't generally get annoyed at my failings unless the computer / sw is cheating to hell (as Skoorb identified).

In regards to the testosterone problem, You can send the Girl to PO BOX ... 😉😀
Seriously, stop playing games you've got something else you should be doing w/ your time!

Amen, brother. Software cheating is the friggin worst. That's what pisses me off; usually I'm pretty mellow.

Edit: Speaking of which.../me goes to install NHL '02.

Yeah, I get pretty pissed when a n00b blocks me for a second in RQ3 and some asshat in a corner sends my head across the map.
