Why is it that I cant view Gmail on Firefox?

Just reformatted rig and now cant view Gmail in firefox. the only thing that comes up is a blank screen.

Um, as far as I know, Gmail doesn't require Java. Mik3y, as a test, can you pull up Gmail in Internet Explorer?

I remember having this problem, but I don't remember the go-around I used (was it to refresh the page...?), or when it stopped (I have no problems accessing gmail in FF now). I'm really helpful, I know

except that gmail notifier doesnt open it in a new window...but thats not related

i would uninstall, and reinstall FF, and make sure you get the latest version, and all the plugins. never had that problem before

and yea, firefox does work on explorer perfectly fine. i've never had a problem with gmail on firefox until this fresh reformat. i'll try reinstalling it right now.

Fortunately my problem has disappeared. I gave up yesterday. This morning I cleared the cache on BOTH IE (internet options/general/ delete files) and on Firefox (under privacy you will see Cache then clear cache) and everything is fine today. I did this yesterday and it did not work.

I believe that there was something obscure wrong with GMAIL over the weekend at some point, and those of us who hit it at the right time - who knows, 5am, got some sort of buglet code that was festering somewhere. How's that for a super-high tech explanation?

I do feel so very vindicated that I was not the only one having this very peculiar issue.

i have had this problem with firefox with some extension installed. maybe adblock or something. i had to reinstall the extension.
go to start menu - firefox - safe mode. see if gmail works now.
