Because some people work their asses off for those crumbs to be screwed in the end by a select few who slacked and were given the crumbs instead.How can you sit and cry about somebody who might not have been as lucky getting a few crumbs from a pie that you've had a very big serving of ?
This thread reminds me of a 60 Minutes spot 2 weeks ago about a straight-A white girl with umpteen academic activities was rejected from the college she wanted to go to, while a black student who admittedly had no extracurriculars and a 2.2 GPA got into the same school the same year.
I'm all for fair treatment. This is NOT fair treatment. This school in question assigns points in going over the application. You get 20 points for being a minority.
Honestly, I'm offended for the people who receive these "benefits." Instead of saying "You are self-capable, you can do this," they are pretty much saying "You're 20 marks less than a white person is, so we'll give you a 20-mark head start since you can't keep up on your own....."
