You know, although I'm female, I don't consider polygamy a taboo. Here's where I have a problem though if society were to contemplate legalisation: Well, notice that in many of the societies that polygamy is practiced, it's the men that have a upperhand! The women are considered backward and their rights limited. Do the flip side too, in a matriarchal society, the woman would be the dominant one and the men second class. Basically, it's hard for me to see it become effective whilst at the same time championing women's rights and without tromping men's. In the modelled societies you've referenced, I haven't seen where the women had equal rights. Hence it wasn't a problem in those societies. It would be a problem in our kind of society though. I guess it's possible, but not very bright.

Bingo.

There are douches like this. :|

Wrong. I care about my girlfriend. But when I see another attractive female, for the moment that I realize she's attractive before looking away and changing my mind's subject, my unconscious wants her. It's the carnal nature of man.

Now... if I were to keep staring or go after her, that's another issue entirely.

It would work out for both sexes cuz females feel afraid that they will grow old and have no one to love or be loved by. Polygamy will provide them with multiple men to love and be loved by.

Males would not be limiting there options sexually and would be guilt free
