Because they're being taught how to write while kids in the US are being taught that everyone's a winner, and that their self esteem matters more than anything else.
wrong answer.
He's pretty right on I think. We as a society are become pussies. We are letting the minority dictate how things should be. I've heard from more people that the whole no child left behind thing is BS and only hurts education, than I've heard people supporting it.
I hate the attitude that they try to push that everyone is a winner. You can't have winners without loosers.
When my daughter starts school and does poorly it's her own fault. I'll motive her to do better but I won't do what some parents do and say it's ok you did your best, you're still smart in my book.
But if she does good then it's because she cares and that we as parents have instilled in her that learning and doing well in school is how you do better in life, which in turn leads to a happier life.
Red Forman had child raising right, if your kid does something dumb or fails a test, it's ok
to call them a dumb ass.
I think when she does start going to school I'm going to raise all kinds of hell though.
When I get forms in English and Spanish I'm going to complain and say I'm offened that I pay taxes to the school system and have to pay to have material printed in a FOREIGN language. Then if the teacher ever tells me everyone is a winner I'm going to have a field day there. That will put the precedent down to my kid that Dad is a little nuts and will do stuff to embarass you so you better do good in school so he doesn't have to come back up here.
