I always assume there is make up in those things and that the person carrying it is gay.
"Assume" or "hope"? 😉

Hope, of course...

I was just kidding...😀

Simple rule of thumb to live by, if it doesn't fit in your pockets, you don't need it, period.

Just buy a small carry-on type bag with wheels and an extendable handle-you will look like a tourist but at least it will easily haul all your junk or better yet, get yourself a shiny red wagon to put all your crap in.

Dude, you'd be styling.

So you're saying I don't need my wang?

I humbly disagree. 😛

Man-purse, and perfectly acceptable so long as you don't get it in a bright color or cover it in political party pins.

Yeah, those political party pins really scream "unmasculine."

What's a messenger bag?
A bike messenger bag.

Kind of a backpack/bag hybrid.

Roit.

I'm a fan of the "over the shoulder" bags. Sort of like a backpack...but they tend to have a smaller profile and don't bounce around as bad.
....and pretty much look like a purse. 😛

I guess the "formal" term for them is a sling

They certainly do - especially when coupled with greenpeace and other such eco-terrorist organization logos.

You don't put your wang in your pocket, it generally goes in your pants, not in your pocket. Or do you have a little hole in you pocket so it can come out and play.

The question was whether or not a given fit in one's pocket, not whether you keep it there as a matter of course. 😉

u could get one of those uber gay looking hip bag things that people (freaks) put around their waists... they do the job.

If I could carry a purse my life would be so much easier.. one bag to keep everything in.. Wallet, keys, phone, etc. Then I could just take the purse everywhere and not worry about having to have so much other junk in all my pockets. I call for a revolution! It's not fair a guy can't walk around with a purse and not be looked at funny.
Dude (or dudette?), you carry a purse, and take pix. For the regular guys, we have briefcase, I'd even stoop to fanny pack before even conceive the "purse" thought.
I have my wallet in my back pocket, my phone on the belt clip, and keys in the ignition (when they're not there, they're in my pocket). If you need to carry more than that (i.e. make ups, touch up bag, tampons, etc...) You should indeed carry a purse. Otherwise as previously stated, get yourself a nice briefcase, or just a back pack will do.

I typically have to carry around a satchel when I'm on campus (have to lug books around) and it's a pain in the arse. Quite honestly I don't even know why women bother to carry around purses, the only thing that an extra bag does is get in the way and create a place to accumulate junk. I have my wallet, my money clip, and my keys that all fit fine in my pockets, my phone gets clipped to my belt. Dunno how I'd need any more space.

I know why they carry it around, so us guys can carry it for them.

My laptop bag is way too full, so I carry the messenger bag I picked up from the the Old Navy HD thread a few weeks back. I actually bought 4 of them, and I"m glad I did. Great gifts, and they really are decent bags.
