Why is it so hard to find non-flashy cases nowadays?

Flash and lights with assloads of extra fan slots seem to be the only case styles the online's are selling these days. I've been looking for days now for a simple, thinner matx case without the flashy bits or a bazillion fan holes. Even harder finding one that isn't just a lazy 'chop off one drive bay' job on existing atx towers. It's getting frustrating.

If only those little Shuttle KPC's had the option of PCI-E I'd be all over it. Seems the only way for one to get something desktop-space friendly these days is to make it yourself.

*shakes fist*

Damn kids and their desire for bling!

I just got a Antec MicroATX tower that's pretty subdued. It would fit perfectly in a corporate setting.

I agree, those are nice boxes, I wish they were a touch thinner though. Hardest thing is to find one under 300$ and not covered in BS.

*cranky*

Because you're not looking hard enough.

+1 indeed there are lotsa bland ordinary cases out there.

Bland, sure, thin and matx, not so much. Unless of course you want an overpriced htpc case with lcd's and a freakin' remote costing 5x the price of normal case's.

Only one I've yet seen is the In-Win Case, which seems to be my only option for a thinner and affordable matx case.

What's wrong with the Antec Performance One series?

You complain about a lack of general cases, then you get specific about non-general cases. ???

I had a In-Win case about 5 years ago - not a bad product.
