why is it recommended that 1.85v be max for durons? b/c tbirds run at 1.85?

is it because tbirds run at 1.85v and that durons are the same as the tbirds except for cache size? (do the tbirds even run at 1.85? what's their voltage?) or is it the 15 percent over default voltage rule? thanks.
 
1.85 is the highest voltage available from the voltage regulator without actually modifying the thing. BIRDS top out at 1.75 I believe so the extra .1v gives a little headroom.

BTW, DURONS and BIRDS are quite different, not just the cache. The Duron was engineered to consume much less power than the BIRD.
 
realy DaddyG, i always heard they were the same an that the duron just uses less power becasue its slower, but you say no?
btw. my epox board gives my t-bird 1.65v at auto-detect and it seems plenty happy.
