The correct answer is..

Because there are 5,000 other students out there that would be willing to do it for your earnings.

Bingo.

It is ok to pay you 7.50 for that job because people(including you) are willing to do that job for 7.50.

Real world lesson #2:
You will not get paid based on what is "fair".
You will be paid based on the supply and demand for people with the skills needed to perform the job.

So even though the secretary job is much simplier than my job, she deserves to get paied 10 an hour? I do alot around here to only get payed 7.50, and since the cost of living has gone up plus the amount of work has gone up since the boss wants to save some pennies but not hiring somebody to replace the co-worker that just left I think I deserve a raise. No sense in me ranting over this though, just kind of having a pissy day over here

See, you still aren't getting it.
Did I say the secretary "deserves" more money than you?
No. The point is that pay is not based on how much you "deserve".

I understand your frustration. Everyone has had times when they felt they deserved more money for the work they were doing. But the bottom line is that nobody owes you a job and nobody owes you what you think is a "fair" rate of pay. Every company decides how much to pay based on how much is required to get someone with the level of skill they need. So if there are 5000 other people willing and able to do your job for $7.50, then that is what they will pay.

- professional experience
- degree earned

both are factors in giving someone their just salary... what do you have ?

Oh and not to mention that you aren't worth as much because you are a flight risk. They will invest in employees more than interns/part-timers, obviously.

<kevin spacey>"See, that's the trouble with your fcuking MTV-microwave-dinner generation; you all want it now. You think you deserve it just because you want it? It doesn't work like that! You have to earn it. You have to take it, you have to make it yours. " </kevin spacey>

Once you get into the job and become a permanent employee, the cream of the crop will rise to the top. Nothing entitles you to getting paid more. If the company doesn't think you're worth your price, they'll get rid of you. If you're one of those "paper certs" guys or depend on the degree you got 15 years ago, forget about it. You need to prove yourself every day.

Edit- the quote above my post is pretty accurate. You need to earn it, you're not entitled to it.
