Why is it considered an assault to point a gun at someone?

And if it did it would be BATTERY

Assault is the DELIBERATE threat of IMMINENT violence against another.

Intentionally pointing a gun at someone will put them in reasonable fear of receiving an imminent battery = Assault

This all seems like it should be obvious to you and Im starting to feel like Ive been trolled by responding...
