Why is it called "Good Friday"?

So Why is it called "Good Friday"???

I'm one who believes it's called good, b/c even though Jesus was tortured and killed it was a good thing for every person in the world who can now have salvation through Christ.

I always thought it was a sort of "spin" word.

Like the ancient Greeks used to say, "Generous Hades" etc., as if saying it enough made it come true.

Because people always forget about this holiday, and when they're reminded of this day off from work, they say "good". Thus Good Friday.

Because in dying, Jesus supposedly saved mankind. His sacrifice is termed as "Good".
