Hell is most definitely a cuss word. Just because it doesn't sound harsh doesn't mean it isn't "bad." The thing that bothers me is when they tell you that you can't use "hell" but they let "heck" slide. It's the same god damn thing.

Maybe it's a conflict between the difference of slander and freedom of speech? (I really have no clue)

Or people have a hard time to stand up and defend their right to correct or enforce inappropriate language when it's so loosely categorized by regulation and law.

You're kidding right? please say you are
I really don't care about language. I don't believe in the concept of bad words only in bad language. No words I use are bad unless I'm intending to use them to hurt someone. It's retarded that we even care. Hell, damn, ass, and all others that the language filter won't let me use, unless I'm directing them in a hurtful manner towards others, they aren't bad.

No, I'm not kidding. If you'd let someone get away with heck and not hell, you're a hyprocrite and I don't care what you have to say. The meaning is the same, so if one shouldn't be acceptable, neither should the other.

It depends on the way it's used. If it is used in a disrespectful manner to another student or teacher, then it's a problem. If it's used to describe a place, in the way we use it from time to time in Ancient World History, then it's not a problem.

Ass is not a cuss word. It is an animal.

Negative. If I remember correctly, Jackass is the animal.

Nope, if you say ass you can still be talking about a donkey. Its also money :p

as2 Audio pronunciation of "ass" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (s)
n. pl. as·ses (sz, sz)

1. An ancient Roman coin of copper or copper alloy.
2. An ancient Roman unit of weight equal to about one troy pound.

Hell is not a bad word, neither should it be classified as one. If i say "What the hell" that shouldn't be a problem. Everybody is so stuck up they care about sh1t like saying "What the hell", or "Go to hell". Yet if you say "Drop dead" there's no problem at all. Obviously people have too much time on their hands so they enforce rules like hell being a cuss word, wearing hats being gang related, and in my old school, girls weren't allowed to wear mini skitrs nor tops above their belly button. Do they want us to be gay? Thats the only reason i go to school. Nice blonde girls in mini skirts.

My teachers dont care if you say mild curse words, and just pretend they didnt hear you if you use some of the more severe ones unless you are using them to insult another person.

My art teacher is awesome. He lets us listen to music in class, eat and when someone cusses even if we're cussing each other out, he pretends he doesn't hear it. He says damn from time to time too. Great guy.

Maybe he realises art isn't a proper subject, so it shouldn't be taught like one.

It all depends on the teacher. I had a teacher in HS that would cuss in her lectures. But then again she tried to convice us that she could raise tables and someone was stalking her computers
