10 minutes ago I was reaaly hungry so I went and got two apples, I finished them about 5 minutes ago and now I'm reaaaly hungry again :disgust:

its always like that no matter what fruit I eat or how much of it I eat I always get hungry again after a few minutes.

I just ate some fresh strawberries and I feel full. Maybe its because I used about a pint of cream cheese fruit dip on them.

It's mostly water and sugar. Not that you shouldn't eat it, just don't expect it to be very filling.

Yeah, I believe it's the sugar and water thing as SludgeFactory pointed out.

Well, as far as I know fruits are pretty much around 80% water. Thus, to feel really full, you need to eat lots more fruit. Smth like 10 apples would do the trick, I guess. At least it has always worked for me .

Yep, mostly water. Very few calories, very easy to digest.

Eat more of it. Your body will thank you. :)

Because about the half the fruits are high-GI and raise your insulin levels instantly. Example: banana
Some fruits are semi-high GI but have enough dietary fiber to slow down the process. Example: grapes
Some fruits are low-GI AND have a lot of dietary fiber. Example: apple

By and large, fruit is "non filling" for the same reason that sugar-laden snacks and sweets / soda / etc. are "non filling" -- the calories are all coming from sugar, the most simple, high-GI carbo on the planet.

As someone else (correctly) stated, FAT is what satisfies and gives you the "full" feeling. So try a 1-ounce serving of mixed nuts/peanuts with that fruit next time. :)

<< Very few calories >>

That is not always true. Apples have quite a few calories dur to the natural sugars.

Edit - kant speel.
