Why is eating dog disgusting and inhumane?

Maybe because some people keep them as pets... You are eating a man's best friend.

It's not like you're taking other people's pets and eating them
Dogs that are raised for human consumption I see no problem with

I don't know why chicken is related to blacks, but all I know is that the best Chicken joints like Popeyes & Browns Chicken are in the BAD part of town. You can find Kentucky Fried Chicken anywhere though.
I want a "CLEAN" Popeyes in my neighborhood. I mean clean as to where the people that eat there don't tear the place up!!!!!!!

Old Browns Chicken commercial jingle
Browns Chicken, it tastes better!

Of course he was, his name was Leroy.

Oops, another stereotype. Shame on me 🙂

Any stereotype, in general, is bad because people dont like being bunch up as liking something or doing something because of their look.

White people and Mayo?....... Hmmm, never heard of that one.

example of what i think is a good stereotype:
asians are good at math.

hmmm,

I disagree.

This is the very basis of culture.

Let's face facts. You are judged by how you look. Skin color is no different than your hairstyle, dress, shaving habits, etc......just that appearence means everything. Most cultures display a unified appearence to identify themself with said culture.

This culture has nothing to do with the color of one's skin.

As much as we all believe we are "so individual" and "so unique" if you take a step back and look at it, people do long and need to belong to something other than themselves. That banding together and enjoying similar activities/beliefs is what culture is, regardless of skin color. But one can't deny that skin color is yet another way to identify with someone.

It's like people that have things in common. "hey! You like metallica!" "Hey you like rap to!" "hey! I don't care the color of your skin but immediately we have something in common before we even speak!"

QFT i know some black people who hate chicken.

Come on buddy. Come on! Everybody knows that blacks, and chickens, are quite fond of one another.

A buddie i used to work with (mechanic) had fried chicken on top of his tool box all day that he took bites off of every now and then. He had no problem with the stereotype. We joked about it often. I've had a black bus driver that eats fried chicken while driving.
Nothing wrong it it. Just the way it is.

There are also genuinely positive stereotypes about groups. Some groups have, as a deliberate political strategy, tried to evolve new genuine positive stereotypes for themselves.

But it's like Asian people and rice. I don't see a problem with it because, well, rice can be pretty damn tasty too! Not to mention it does have something of a cultural significance.

Yeah, but thats only cause you like rice too. Some asians like dog, some thing its disgusting and inhumane. So saying all asians like to eat dogs might piss a few of them off. Generalizations are just bad in general.

Why is eating dog disgusting and inhumane?

He didn't say it was disgusting and inhumane, he said some people think it is.

stereotype...???

i noticed ... from years of working in restaurants that so many black ppl really like grape and orange soda and smoke menthol cigs. i hope i am not being stereotypical by mentioning it, but it is an observation that i have made.

i asked a black guy once and he said that menthol cigs were always marketed to black ppl.. and he had no idea about the grape and orange soda but he noticed it too.

Orange soda = AWESOME!
Grape soda = nauseating.

I once drank about 8 grape sodas in a day (I don't even like the stuff). My crap came out a radioactive purpleish color.

Well, I agree with that. But, I dont think everyone of a particular race would agree with a certain generalization made about that race. Therfore, those people who don't agree with it get pissed off.

Yep.

These food stereotypes are true for most people. I worked at McDonald's long enough to learn.

Black people like chicken, orange drink, and hate onions.
While people like mayonnaise, coke, and burgers.
Old people like coffee and fish.
Asians like chicken nuggets and big macs.
