Why is FOX news conservative?

It's obvious that FOX news has a conservative bias. Why is that? Is it a business decision to get a conservative audience and to stand out from the other news networks, or is Murdock and every FOX news manager die hard conservatives who want to get their views across?

idiots, the news on FNC is not "conservative." the only reason people think it's "conservative" is o'reilly and hannity, and they are not "news" they are commentary/entertainment.

Fox is no more conservatively biased than the other news channels are liberally biased. In fact, I would say less.

Where have you been? It's been like that since forever.

Are you sure? Maybe because its the one conservatively biased station which makes it stand out whereas you figure liberal media is the mainstream.. Who knows.

I guess, but they aren't really entertainment. Hannity & Colmes is just funny because Hannity just doesnt shut up and Colmes is basically the little b!tch on the leash who gets pwned.

That said fox News is where I turn to when I want to know what's going on. MSNBC always airs crap about prisons throught eh weekends and CNBC is just terrible. CNN usually has dumb shows and CNN Headline news goes through things too quickly.

I can turn on Fox News at any hour of the day and find some pretty bad conservative bias within 15 minutes.

I'm not really sure the same could be said for the other cable news networks.

O'Reilly and Hannity may technically be commentary, but within the framework of the network, they're presented as news reporters.

Are you kidding? I can do the same with CNN and MSNBC is less time.

The problem here is comparative bias. We have been exposed to a liberal bias monopoly in mainstream news for decades now. This, and only this is why Fox seems so biased to those who are liberally minded.

No they aren't, in fact what I have seen of the shows they have gone out of their way to specifically say they aren't reporters and it's commentary.

This is very true. Most of the networks have such a huge liberal slant that anything that gives a balanced view is deemed "conservative" or "right wing".

Dan Rather anyone? 😛

you are so used to liberal bias in the media (or you're a biased liberal) that when you hear anything right of left (i.e. MIDDLE) you automatically think it's "conservative" when it really may be unbiased.

You could turn that around and use it in an opposite matter its circular logic.

last time i checked, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, CNBC, Healine News, PBS all are pretty much liberally biased (and they admit it)

The most biased name in news - Fox News

The thing is they pander to uneducated yokels and the very small percentage of very rich.

Its for the most part an easy market no one is actually going to have the brains or initiative to fact check.

www.newsbusters.org is better

I mean this is pretty much a non-issue, its a fact.

Fox News even admitted their bias in the Wall Street Journal of all places:
