Why is Firefox better than Mozilla?

Allright, I know that they are both better than IE, and i couldn't throw a rock without hitting a thread that tells me why.

but I've not been able to find a post that concisely compares Firefox and Mozilla and points out what makes one better. Please. I find Firefox a bit more difficult to set up than Mozilla, and I'd hate figure everything out without some tangible benefits.

How is it more difficult to setup? There's some things left out of the options pages in Firefox that are there in Mozilla, but the major things are there and anything else is available via about:config.

It's more of a preference thing. Just use whatever you like.

I may be wrong here but doesn't firefox have many more extensions available for it? Or are they generally all compatible with both?

I prefer Mozilla. You don't have to install the mail app if you don't want it.

Many extensions are compatible, but more and more lazy developers are starting to move to Mozilla/Firefox, and they aren't writing their install scripts to work with Mozilla (even though the rest of the code would work just fine, or tiny fixes would make it work in both).

Moz for me, too.
i prefer the browser + email integration.
there are some others that come in mozilla package, but i don't use them, so ....

another thing - i'm more accustomed to the skin and menus on moz compared to fox.

just hope that with the release of fox 1.0, moz will still be updated and worked on...

I also prefer the browser and email config.

Used to it because I have used Netscape beginning with Version 2 then thru the fours and sevens and now Mozilla.

I had issues getting Java to jive with Firefox for some reason. I know it's fixable, but with Moz it was effortless.

It's not better than mozilla

If you start with mozilla and then go to firefox, you'll be back to Moz really quickly

but for IE users, it's usually their step up

I installed FireFox and the standalong browser of Mozilla. The one thing about Firefox I didn't like is when I clicked a link in a page to go to another page and then clicked Back, it would take me to the TOP of the back page and not take me to where I was in the page. The Mozilla Browser took me right back to my last position like IE does. However I'm having trouble with Mozilla because there doesn't seem to be a way to get it to put in the www. & .com automatically into an address. It seems to always check for the site without it, then not find it, and then put it in. I want to type the word, press Ctrl-Enter and have it put it in there right away. This is now causing problems for me at work for some reason so I'm looking back into Firefox again...

Hehe that`s what happened to me,don`t see what all the fuss is about with Firefox,I prefer Mozilla to Firefox,only other browser I like as much is Opera .

mozilla suite = all in
firefox browser = light and minimal bloat, with everything you might want available as an optional extra


I was nearly laughing at how convenient installing firefox was, all the bookmarks were imported perfectly, settings seemed more or less as i wanted them, even the bar layout was almost exactly how i had customised IE to be. None of the extra features get in the way either, if you cant be bothered with them they are easily ignored.
