hm from what i've read about the aureal sinking is that they were bought out by a corrupt company. Bad business practices by the new owners screwed over aureal.

00aStrOgUy00,

What ever happened to the motto "size doesnt matter" :) I have the 2500's and believe that they are one of the best purchases I ever made. The sub on this machine is loud enough. I have no problems with sound quality at all. Anyone that I have played a DVD for has been awestruck.

i've never, ever installed creative's win2k drivers, and never will. it has so much useless crap i will never use, i just use the standard win2k ones that come with the os. but i do have to give them the tip of my hat for making smp-friendly sound cards, unlike aureal. i loved my mx300 too, but then that other cpu caught my eye. damn it all.

Liveware 3.0 has a big problem with sound stuttering under Win2000 and DirectSound games. Yet, every time i check the creative site it says last driver update July 2000. Hmmm, sounds like they are working hard to fix the problem.
