Why is drinking legal and smoking pot isn't?

Not that i'm encouraging smoking pot, nor do i do it myself, and same goes for drinking, however scientifically speaking drinking causes permanent damage, can be addicting, and harms part of your brain... smoking pot has temporary effects. Like all drugs, they affect everyone differently. Pot probably won't make you go out and randomely have unprotected sex unless you'd do that conciously without smoking it. It's all about self control. Alcahol typically, once you're drunk, you're lost. So why is drinking legal and smoking pot isn't? 😕

i don't know, is it? i didn't bother searching this time, but i just wrote this up as i have nothing better to do. Anyways.....your governement doesn't always make the right/smartest decisions

Ha, I'm not a smoker but I was thinking about this last night. I think Alcohol is worse for you short and long term.

i never lose control when i drink. mainly because i'm a lightweight and will bow to the porcelin gods before i'm messed up enough to do something really stupid 😛
