I thought it was a widely known fact that coffee contains virtually no nutrients, calories, or anything. Proof: http://www.cnn.com/FOOD/resources/food.for.thought/beverages/coffee/compare.coffee.html The 4.5 calories it has are really negligable. I drink my coffee straight black.
Yes, caffeine from sodas are bad because sodas are loaded with carbs. Smoking is bad because smoking GIVES YOU CANCER! And costs on the order of several $ a day. I can buy my own coffee and a pound will last me weeks.
Why do people consider coffee bad? Because it contains caffeine? Is that really the extent of it? I mean, yea, caffeine is a diruetic. So, drink more water. Coffee is 95% water anyways. Drink some additional water.
Why do people seem so focused on 'kicking the coffee habit?" Is it just because they feel that it is 'not natural' to rely on a stimulant to be productive?
