Political talk really fires people up.

Religious talk really fires people up.

But combine the two and look out!

Election year just makes it more exciting.

Secret Muslim theories are as wacky as conspiracy theories. The very idea is just retarded. Like he keeps a Koran in a hollowed-out Bible that he masturbates to at night. You know how you become a Muslim? You recite a Haiku. Going apostate is even easier. Now put two and two together.

I find it more likely that he is a secret Atheist. I'm already wary of him being a Christian. But a practicing Christian and secret Atheist is just contemptible. That said, he does seem to be committed (ostensibly) to separation of church and state.

I don't know if contemptible is a fair word. Do you think an avowed atheist could get elected president in the US? As for Obama's religion, or that thereof, in this interview Christopher Hitchens argues Obama is agnostic and simply doing the Christian thing for political reasons. If true, he certainly wouldn't be the first politician to have done that.

I love me some Hitch. Wow, he looks drunker than usual.

Anyway, no, I don't think an "out" Atheist could be elected President. Or to congress for that matter. Though I think there is one avowed Atheist in congress, but he came out while already in office. It's also statistically probable that there are more "closet" Atheists in congress. "Contemptible" might be harsh, but they are no less hypocrites than than say, Larry Craig, who most certainly is contemptible.

If they didn't pretend to be religious, the Congress would be composed almost entirely of evangelical morons. You can choose to cling to your righteous indignation, or you can realize that they have no choice in a country with 50% of its citizens believing in young earth creationism.

If candidates were honest, Mike Huckabee would be the next president. Or worse.. Ron Paul

Yeah I agree. Don't want any damn evil heathens running the country (that we know of!).

Yes, we need a christian in the white house. When we repeatedly get fucked in the ass, like we have the past 7 1/2 years, we'll know that it was at least a christian ass-fucking.
