Why is ATOT not steering wheel compatible?

I just grabbed a Sidewinder Racing Wheel from Frys for 25 bucks, and its now clamped to my desk and my keyboard is shoved aside. Personally, I believe this is the coolest thing ever, and I havent even played anything with it yet, because theyre playing good stuff on my web radio station thingy at the moment and im enjoying it. Too bad i cant get rid of this stupid keyboard entirely and just drive all of my excel documents
