Why is adding the word "house" to a word considered a putdown? Examples inside:

"House xxxx" is what the establishment gives you unless you specify something better, as in the "house vodka", but it is not specifically generic, just a brand not good enough to advertise it's name.

My main gripe is that is quickly morphing into something thats abused beyond all belief. Things that dont make any sense such as the examples given herein, or calling this a "house thread", even though no namebrand version of this thread is available. :confused:

I wish the English language wasnt abused so. :(
