Why is a price check not allowed here?

it is in the rules
No price or interest checks. (for those that want to bend the rules)
if allowed, you essentially end up with an auction site
if you want to auction your crap, take it to ebay

the FS/T forum has always wanted to avoid that , so they require a set price (or lower in cases of OBO) , but they don't want people bidding up stuff

a simple price check doesn't make the site into an auction site...😕
he's not trying to auction it either.

People can and have posted price checks to get interest in their item so they can sell it. Others have ruined it for everyone.

Most price checks i've seen turn into a bid fest with people trying to get parts on the cheap. That's why most places don't allow them. If you want to know value, do the leg work and find out what the average selling price is then just list your items up for sale. If the prices are good, it'll sell. 😉
