with McCain leading the republican party, I think he's truly transformed the GOP into the big-tent party they've always claimed to be. his calls for unity and equality and equal rights for all Americans from all walks of life are deeply inspiring.

he seems to really have my interests at heart... or something.

I understand that McCain is expanding the tent by inviting those that are for oil conservation and those that are for drilling. He's inviting those that are concerned about climate change, and those who want to increase FF production. He's inviting those who are for more tax cuts for the wealthy, and for those who think the middle class needs tax cuts more. He's inviting those who oppose torture, and those who are pro torture. He's ally to religious righties, and an ally of those concerned about the agents of intolerance.

No matter what side of any issue you are on, you have a friend and ally in John McCain.:)

In case you didn't realize it, loki is openly gay here. Watch the video then check the batteries in your sarcasm detector.

As a libertarian I feel I don't have a good option, but I'm definitely going with the lesser of two evils, McCain over Obama.

Never noticed this, or would bother to remember really. Tall or fat, I don't care. Just know he was a former Hilldog now on the fence. Glad to hear he hasn't fallen off. I figure if someone can't even be bothered to give a brief desc of the link they want me to click, I can't be bothered to read or watch it.

Besides I was too busy writing my witty 2nd post. Shame its all for not.. I'll have to copy and save for some other unsuspecting fool....

You need to put down whatever you're smoking.

I LOVE how this has all backfired on the republicans.
They feared Hillary, and felt Obama would be easily beatable.
So they (many republicans) praised Obama and went as far to say they would vote for him.
They got their way. Hillary dropped out and Obama was the one.
But what happened? Obama is turning out to be the one to be feared.
Two polls now have Obama way ahead of Mccain. The very thing republicans feared
with Hillary - Mccain showdown.
Whats that old saying... be careful what you wish for.

A McCain presidency probably could be pretty good, with a Democratic Congress. It would require moderation and compromise in legislation. If Congress and the presidency are held by Democrats expect all sorts of left wing legislation passed, and Republicans making big gains in 2012 or 2016.

I wish the hard core right would get over the gay rights thing.

Let the states decide etc etc.

There's definitely something to be said for voting for a man who graduated 894 out of 899 in his class.

The fact that McCain has obligated himself to follow the Bush regime with regards to Iraq and doesn't care when the war ends and when the troops come home is enough to not vote for him. No?

That's my take on it too.

Seems, as recently as a few days ago, you were stating you were voting for obama. I always thought you were a closet republican though. And yet, even now, something seems disingenuous and spoofish about this thread.

Agreed... couldn't the op come out and just say it -- "look fellows.. I'm in love with Obama.. .here's a video dissing McSame.. cool.. huhm??"

Wasted my time. There was no new insight in this video at all.

He disses obama also - not sure what the goal is - create dissent everywhere?

We have been saturated by right wing legislation for so long now that a good slap in the back of the head by some left wing influence could provide more balance though. The question is, how long should that remain before it would be best for the pendulum to start swinging back the other direction? This is one of the more consistent problems I believe our country has faced for a very long time now. We seem to have trouble maintaining a healthy balance in our legislation.
