1. Obama terrorizes innocent Pakistanis on an almost daily basis. The drone war he is waging in North Waziristan isn't "precise" or "surgical" as he would have Americans believe. It kills hundreds of innocents, including children. And for thousands of more innocents who live in the targeted communities, the drone war makes their lives into a nightmare worthy of dystopian novels. People are always afraid. Women cower in their homes. Children are kept out of school. The stress they endure gives them psychiatric disorders. Men are driven crazy by an inability to sleep as drones buzz overhead 24 hours a day, a deadly strike possible at any moment. At worst, this policy creates more terrorists than it kills; at best, America is ruining the lives of thousands of innocent people and killing hundreds of innocents for a small increase in safety from terrorists. It is a cowardly, immoral, and illegal policy, deliberately cloaked in opportunistic secrecy. And Democrats who believe that it is the most moral of all responsible policy alternatives are as misinformed and blinded by partisanship as any conservative ideologue.
2. Obama established one of the most reckless precedents imaginable: that any president can secretly order and oversee the extrajudicial killing of American citizens. Obama's kill list transgresses against the Constitution as egregiously as anything George W. Bush ever did. It is as radical an invocation of executive power as anything Dick Cheney championed. The fact that the Democrats rebelled against those men before enthusiastically supporting Obama is hackery every bit as blatant and shameful as anything any talk radio host has done.

3.Contrary to his own previously stated understanding of what the Constitution and the War Powers Resolution demand, President Obama committed U.S. forces to war in Libya without Congressional approval, despite the lack of anything like an imminent threat to national security.

This is an exceptional article. Those who continue to say "well i don't want so and so to win" you will be the ones who allow them to win. Dems, Reps, no difference. They both want to take from you and give to another. They both want to infringe on our rights because they think they know what's right.

This is an exceptional article. Those who continue to say "well i don't want so and so to win" you will be the ones who allow them to win. Dems, Reps, no difference. They both want to take from you and give to another. They both want to infringe on our rights because they think they know what's right.

The reason I am holding my nose and will vote Obama is for scotus picks, Scalia and crew have brought about disgrace to the judicial branch. Money = speech, fuck that.

If Obama can get the bad guys without sending my friends and their kids over there to get killed, maimed and mentally deranged, then it's just fine with me. And if the people who support, live with and around the bad guys don't mind having those bad guys around and refuse to have those bad guys removed from their villages/towns/cities due to the possibility of becoming willing victims of a missile strike, then I guess they also don't mind suffering the consequences of their desires.

It seems the Repub's main objection to Obama's methods is that Halliburton et al can't get in on the action and bilk the gov't out of the billions and billions of $$$ like they did in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Having the bad guys live with the fear that a missile can come out of nowhere and kill them without warning is good psych warfare as far as I'm concerned. Makes them think twice about killing Americans on American soil and living in constant fear that a missile can kill them and the folks around them while they're in bed fast asleep.

edit - And besides, I'd think The Repubs would like how much tax $$$ get saved taking out the bad guys with one missile instead of risking the lives of a whole covert op team and the huge amount of support those teams require.

Oh yeah, I forgot. The whole problem is that Obama is getting the credit. ISN'T IT?

Terrorists are afraid to talk on the phone, afraid to use their radios, even afraid to seek medical help (including vaccines for their terrorist children.) Obviously not much can be discussed about the program, since it doesn't even officially exist, but it takes out more high value targets every week than the Afghan and Pakistani security forces do in a year.

Oh, and about men being driven mad by the buzzing of drones overhead? Shenanigans. You can't hear or see the drones. They fly around 30,000 feet MSL. That way the bad guys never know if they're around or not.

The person who is in the Oval Office is very likely to be nominating at least one Supreme Court member in the next four years and this becomes a way that this election will effect the country for decades to come.

Most people probably don't give much thought to this factor though.

Its all well and fine for bfdd to post his position, try to convince P&N members to think his way, but still a mere 17 posts on this forum does not even scratch the surface reagarding who to vote for or against in the US POTUS election of 11/2012.

As for me, I wish I had a dog in this fight I could believe in as clearly right. My dilemma will be in voting for the lesser of all evils.

As the other thing to say is, what I or any other poster says will not matter much, when the issue will be decided by million of other aggregated votes.

Most money spent on the military is wasted. Even though the drones are all overpriced they are probably the most cost effective military program we have.
Compare this with the F-22 program or the US Navy.
