CHECK IT OUT.

This is from the EVO 2004 fighting game tournament held this past weekend at Cal Poly. Incredible display of skill. Absolutely the type of thing that highlights what I love about games...

For those not well versed in fighters, note the health bars and realize that if he blocked just one attack instead of parrying all of them, he would have lost. Just incredible...and the applause is well deserved.

OMG THAT WAS F0KING AMAZING I DONT LIKE STREET FIGHTER THAT MUCH BUT WHEN KEN BEET CHUN LI I JUST GOT AN OVERWHELMING FEELING OF JOY AND WITH EVERYBODY CHEERING OMG!!!

Yes, repost. A search for street or fighter would have turned it up. But good pst anyway and amazing it took so long to be pointed out, xSkyDrAx.

Very nice, I watched it like 10 times in a row. You have to be a video game fan to fully appreciate this video.

I watched that like 10 times and Ive never even played that game...

can someone explain how to block in that game which makes this especially impressive?

He parried, he didn't block. If he had just blocked normally he'd have been killed because you lose a little bit of health each time. He didn't have enough left so he knew he had to parry - and parry he did. It's much harder than blocking and requires precision timing.

EDIT: for example, every play the Dead or Alive series? The counter-moves require timing similar to parrying in SF3, but IMO are more forgiving.

Parrying was impressive, especially of that last kick... but doing it under the pressure of in the Finals with it. :Q
