Why I Love AT Forums!

You don't understand, dude. AT forums (OT included) is the largest pool of intelligent knowledge I've ever been around. With 100,000+ members, it's about ten times larger than Georgia Tech's student population! If you stay awhile, contribute, answer people's questions, and learn the quirks of this or that, a camaraderie builds, and you feel a sense of community. Heck, I even sent an AT forum member a postcard from Italy last year, even though he and I have never met in person.

ATOT simply makes you think, makes you laugh, makes you cry, and makes you explore angles of life that you would have otherwise ignored. And even during times of crisis (9/11), it's the best news source in the world. It feels good to help people out if their computer won't POST, or if they simply want to know what digital camera to buy. Last night, I learned about some really nice new desktop themes for WinXP. Last week, I found out that some people really like my digital photography. A few months ago, ATOT forum members helped send paramedics to another forum member in trouble.

So, stay a while, and you too will learn why it is that we love this place so much.

yep and the fun of making a profile one day and wee-weeing on everyone and then turning around the next and making another profile and the same people love you the next day. LOL

Or people who have multiple profiles and pimp their own flame threads.

I agree, there are many, many members who are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Sometimes you have to wade through a lot of crap in OT but hey, this is the internet. 😛 Overall AT is a fantastic community, it's the only BBS I keep coming back to.

But really, I have met sooo many fabulous people here, I love the place. I have met such a diverse group of people, who really have taught me alot, including how to build my own computer, how to overclock it, and of course, how to play CS, which is the best one of all. 😀 Not to mention, you can get so many different points of view on a subject, it really opens your mind up and makes you think.

I still want to know why planting a tree makes me more socially affluent.
