As to why you would spend $250 on a burner for a 233 MHz computer, I will never know,

Why not? A CPU definitely does not in any shape way or manner limit the recording speed of a burner..

Perhaps this person wanted to record CD's at a faster rate? Just a thought.

First, the BASTARDS at Compaq gave her one IDE connection for her secondary connector, WTF!??!!!??! WHY THE FVCK WOULD YOU DO THAT?!?!

And I don't know about you, but my computer inside only has one IDE cable as well..and most CD-r's that I've bought (all 2 of them) have come with an IDE cable as well..perhaps you should blame the makers of the CD-R.

Get a real computer if you want me to work on it anymore.

Why would someone who needs help installing a CD-R buy a so-called real computer without pre-installed software and hardware?

God damn how can otherwise intelligent people be so ignorant?

How is this being ignorant?

<< I have an Asian friend >>

What does that have to do with anything?

I wasn't being sensitive, you were. If you'd said "I have an friend who bought a CDRW and wanted me to install it in her Compaq." It would've been fine. Adding the racial distinction added nothing other than you consider race more than necessary.

I think piku's right, yer just bragging!:p

LMAO

Maybe he's bragging because people believe Asians are so SMART - anybody who works on ASIAN'S computers must be a genius!
