I work here at my college campus, and I did something that saved my IT deparment at least a few grand in hardware and much more is man-hours etc. what it is doensnt matter . All thats matter is that I will receive no credit. Really all I want to do is to be able to put this on my resume....Thats the real world I know...

Please tell me your getting screwed so we can wallow in our self-pity and feel better.

I dropped out of college had to fight my way up to the top. I got screwed over many times because they thought these arsholes out of college were smarter then I was ....WRONG 😀

It's just business. If you want acknowledgement of your achievements seek elsewhere. Business is only about making money.

Thats my kind of advice , pragmatic and easy. Next time i Have a good Idea/plan I am keeping it to myself.

Don't forget to sabotage other people?s ideas/plans to make them look more incompetent than you.

I bet some managerial type took credit for your idea, and is now flaunting his success.

Give the man a 100 dollars we got a winner...and I know who the sob that is taking credit.

I have already initiated my plan of revenge...A summer full of slacking off, misuse of departmental vehicles
and petty office theft....

I got so tired of getting no respect at work, I started posting on ATOT during working hours. Now I get no respect in two places.

This is a trend, I guess. All accountants think they don't get respect at work, LOL. I wonder why that's the case.

YES! Rock on!

At my work they showed how tough marketing had it by showing pictures of someone's birthday party at a Paris hotel. After buying out company, the new CEO had pictures of his vacation in every monthly meeting for three months straight. They were showing this to a crowd that's been forced to take a day off (usually w/o pay, noone had any vacation time) each week for eight months straight. Our group's been systematically ignored, to the point where R&D had to go out and do thier own customer preference testing because none of our reps in the field gave a rats arse. (everyone wants to sell Corvettes, even though Cavaliers make a lot of money)

Oh, and as far as getting screwed:
"Think of it like a new job." means "all the sh@$ you put up with for the last year means your a sucker. Come raise time you'll have only been an employee for five months." not "We're going to give you the proper training."

I learned that soon after I started working for "the corporation." I went above and beyond, worked 30 hours OT when they asked for it, did many good money-saving things for my department, etc. Eventually, I started applying for internal job postings only to be passed over three times in favor of outside hires, two of whom didn't last a month!

Then I got out. Too bad I haven't had another a good idea since, or I'd be rich! 😉

the theme of this thread is work sucks.
im not gonna bust my ass at work when both of my bosses 4 board members and wives are in DC right now, living it up on money that could be going towards raises for employees; going to meetings that one of them openly admitted to me are complete jokes and wastes of time.
when ive saved this place thousands of money in support calls alone and my time in personal favors after hours to help out this place.
when the one trip ive taken in 2 years is to oklahoma city for a night for a meeting the next morning and it was like pulling teeth to get that done.
my boss said they need to send me to one of these DC jaunts sometime.
mmmhmm
i'll believe it when i see it.
