As a long time fan, now I'm all curious :\

The quote I used was "They say winning isn't everything and I've decided to take their word for it." And I had several friends who were like "you're giving up?" and trying to cheer me up and whatnot.

Any relationship where there is Facebook/myspace/twitter/etc involved is destined for epic failz.

Relationships require accountability, something completely lacking in any and all internet social interactions. People love to do things on the internet that they know are completely unacceptable like it's second nature.

same here, my friends and family make fun of me only putting up 2 status things ever. im ok with that. i use the photos thing tho, that way fam can see pics of the kids and such.

i never update the status thing. seems kinda pointless. but it is a great way to keep up little things with the family. pics of the kids, fishing trips etc.

also i have a few nephews oversees in Iraq and Afghanistan. when they can they do updates on facebook. its easyer for them to do that so we know they are ok.

Well not everyone is like that, and these social networks allow those that live online like they do offline to communicate easy.

A certain pot head here does not know that facebook is public and bragging about how much you get crunked/high is not a good idea, especially when you put your place of employment.

Yes, because if both members of a couple have a facebook page, you know their relationship will degenerate into a cesspool of lies and anger

....

Right.

http://mashable.com/2010/04/10/facebook-dating/

That article is spot on. Reading it reminded me of my relationship with my ex who was a girl that I knew in high school that reconnected with me me through facebook after we ended up seeing each other again at the funeral of a mutual high school friend who killed herself... Doesn't help that it was a long distance relationship between 2 manic depressive 22 year olds with almost 0 free time between college, work and driving 3 hours to spend time with each other.

Right from the first point I see myself doing that stupid thing. We could only really talk during the evening and I spent so much time analyzing the stupid updates for no reason lol. The came the Big Bang Theory video and it reminded me of how I switched my status before her and she ended up removing her family from her friends before accepting because she didn't want them to find out through facebook...

So do any of you guys have some crazy/stupid facebook affecting your relationships stories?

It sounds like the issue stems from you (and your ex), not facebook.
