In terms of enforcing binding arbitration, it can and should be done the same way the world solved that other apartheid State problem. A world wide economic embargo is always effective unless the embargo leaks badly.

And therein lies Israel's other problem, a almost total lack of other countries that will go to bat for it. Israel is not a stabilizing force in the mid-east, its a destabilizing force.

And the one thing that would help mid-east stability would be to solve the Israeli Palestinian conflict by any fair means.

how do you solve a conflict where both sides want the other side to cease to exist.

Sao123 asks,"how do you solve a conflict where both sides want the other side to cease to exist."

Which I certainly believe is no longer the case for anyone in the mid-east that is a realist.

The problem is, the Israelis have it all and the Palestinians basically have nothing, not even a future, until some sharing exists.

But all in all, the Sao123 Statement makes a great propaganda line for Israel.

But we can also look at it another way, Israel can prop itself up with enough force for some foreseeable future even though its outnumbered 50 to one by surrounding Arab States, but Israel can never become an accepted part of the mid-east until it
fairly settled its disputes with Palestinians.

But if Israel fails to defuse Arab hatreds, in the fullness of time, Israel becomes extremely vulnerable to at least two final end fates. (1) That some external to the Palestinians terrorist organization will acquire some chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear weapons with the means to deliver them into the Israeli heartland. (2) That the Arabs will use their oil money to engage in an arms race Israel can't hope to win. Any number of technologically advanced nations suffering bad economic times
might be willing to sell state of the arts arms to the Arab States for the right price.

We get it LL, Isreal bad, Hamas good.

You still havent answered how you plan to force arbitration on these two parties without the use of force. Embargos dont work for shit.

Are you going to have negotiations/arbitration with an East Palestine (West Bank) and a West Palestine (Gaza)?
How are the wild cards going to be handle?

Why should Hamas accept a deal that Fatah makes and visa versa?

Does Fatah or Hamas have a leader than can commit their factions to an agreement that will be honored?

What sounds nice on a political white paper is more difficult to impliment in the real world.

Come up with realistic answers and forward a copy to Hillary and George for review and the Noble Peace Prize.

why should the palestinians have anything? Do they deserve anything?
Why there are 4.8 million registered paletinian refugees who are trying to lay claim to a land that 4.5 million of them never lived in for even a single day. Of the original 725,000 exiled refugees in 1949, 600,000 of them are dead. 125,000 might have a legitimate refugee claim. The other 4.5 million are nothing but welfare arabs who want the international community to grant them free land to settle, when they have no legitimate claim to it.

As for the economic embargoes, just ask that other former Apartheid State, South Africa how well economic embargoes work. As long as they don't leak badly, they work quite well.

In terms of the economic embargo on Iran, it leaks badly because almost every nation on Earth except Israel and the USA are not willing to allow a complete embargo.

As for me, I don't approve of the policies of the present State of Israel but I think Israel has a right to exist, as for Hamas, whose continued existence is almost certainly bad for everyone, all the Israeli blockade of Gaza has done is to strengthen the rule of Hamas in Gaza. But if Israel does nothing to make concessions to Fatah in the West Bank, the Palestinians may reunite under the leadership of Hamas. In short, the Palestinians have a right to self determination will unite under leaders that brings them positive results. From the Palestinian point of view, Israel earns universal hatreds but neither Hamas or Fatah have done anything for the Palestinians either. So both of them could easily become toast and could easily be replaced.

But in terms of a Palestinian savior nation, Iran is losing ground, there is little remaining faith in the USA, Turkey is newly viewed very favorably, but Egypt is in the best position to alter policy and alter mid-east dynamics.

But no one can predict the future and everyone's crystal balls are rather cloudy, but given all the negative world attention now focused on Israeli policy, only a fool thinks the recent past is a good predictor of the future.
